My parents brought me out here in the 50's & 60's. I always had
the hot roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes and a saucer of butter beans.
I thought this was a long way from Staunton!
The McCauly's 8-13-04
We aren't long time visitors of this establishment, probably 2 or 3 years,
but we thoroughly enjoy the decor and the friendly atmosphere.
Thanks for the good times, good food, and good friends.

I used to come here every weekend from Fishersville. It was a great place
to eat and drink. Their steaks were the best - it covered the whole platter.

I worked evenings and weekends for Toad during high school. I graduated
in 1946 and moved to Verona and went to work at Celanese. I'm a widow

Mid 1940's - I used to go ground hot hunting with Capt. Jack Critzer.
Then we'd stop here to eat. Food was good and nobody dumped tea in my lap!
Thank you Dianne's Son!! You really were a neat waiter!!!

When I was a little girl my family often came to visit my Aunt Edna
and Uncle Walter Tullen. I felt so grown up when my cousin Dawn and I
were allowed to walk by ourselves to T-Bone Tooters for an ice
cream cone! That was only the first of many happy memories of T-Bone
Tooters, and I am so glad to see the proper name restored!
Hazel Masincup
I had a real nice time looking at pictures and talking with our (old)
good friend.
Elmer Nimier
I worked part time in the thirties for Toad Armstrong. Their was a pool

In the early 50's I remember T-Bone Tooter as a very friendly place
to eat and the best t-bones in the area. A great place to hang out.

[T-Bone Cook from 1939 to 1947, working 4:30am - 3:00pm]
T-Bone was a treat to come to with the Lonegrone family and old friend
Harry Malcolm and his wife were neighbors and had the restaurant.
Diana Craig
Lived in Churchville in house behind T-Bone Tooter. Remember when it was
owned by the Malcolms in the late 70's. Children loved to come here to eat
(Ive, Yonya, and Heather Thompson) While the Forbes owned they had the best
breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs and home friend potatoes.
All the years we've been coming here there has always been a visitor at our
table - a fly!! Always enjoyed this place for its laid-back country flare!
Helen C. White
We came here in the early 50's. We had a camp at west Augusta then but
made it our home in 1996. We used to stop and eat supper. So glad you
put the sign back. I always called it T-Bone Tooter.
C. S. and Nelsie Kiracofe
We remember coming here in the 1940's after the basketball games with
the North River and Churchville. After we were married we visited here
with the Houff's. We are pleased to know that T-Bone Tooter is back!
The food was most enjoyable!
Robert & Feme Rahn
It's a neat place to eat. Remember when T-Bone Tooter was built
Robert helped put a wagon and toilet on the roof. Keep up the
good work!
Barbara A. Sawyer
My parents brought my brother and me to eat t-bone steaks in the
1950's... probably the first t-bone steak I ever ate. Rollo Houff,
Houff's Grocery, used to cut the steaks for here so we knew they
were good! If my memory is right, Rollo Houff's brother ran the
T-Bone Tooter around that time. Good memories!!
Mitch Acord
In the summer of 1954, I lived here with my parents Bob & Goldie
Acord. This was an appliance store.
Jim Bright
Used to come here in the 1940's. Remember Toad Armstrong well.

basketball in.

My memories of T-Bone Tooter are from back in the mid 70's. The Malcolms
owned it and my mom would drop me off here every morning to eat breakfast
with Kenny and Steve Malcolms. Then we would walk to school.
Jenny Carlton
[Waitress for MG's and T-Bone Tooter]
My favorite memory here is enjoying all my customers over the last 5 1/2
years. They're all like family to me. Another thing is the owners I have
become friends with Benny & Dianne Rankin, Mary Joe, and Chuck Forbes.
Eugene & Peggy Jutwiler
